Akash had the community. The tools couldn't keep up.
PayAsUWish had built something real, a global dance community following a top choreographer across borders and time zones. But behind every event was a grind Akash was running manually.
Registrations came through WhatsApp messages. Payments went through PayPal, expensive for international buyers, fragmented to track, and impossible to scale. There was no attendee data, no follow-up system, and no visibility into who was actually showing up.
For a community spanning multiple countries and currencies, running events every two months on those tools wasn’t sustainable. Akash needed a platform that could handle the complexity of a global audience, not just convert it.

A global audience needs more than currency conversion. So we built it.
- When PayAsUWish came to us, they had one problem that no off-the-shelf ticketing platform could solve: their audience was everywhere, different countries, different spending power, different expectations on what a fair price looks like.
- Standard currency conversion wasn't the answer. So we built something different. Each partner or geography selects both the currency and the price independently, not a conversion rate applied on top, but a full price parity model with its own payment infrastructure underneath.
- It was one of the more complex builds we've taken on. But we're glad we did. PayAsUWish could finally offer pricing that felt fair to a student in India and an attendee in Dubai at the same time.
- That feature now powers multiple organisers and partners on Ticmint, because what we built for one global community turned out to be something many needed.
