The InBL Pro U25 2025 has been making waves with its exhilarating matchups, drawing attention from basketball enthusiasts. Former Atlanta Hawks player Lamar Patterson, who is representing the Mumbai Titans in the league, strongly believes that the tournament will be crucial in identifying and nurturing emerging talent.
This league is fantastic. It provides players with the necessary exposure. Since it’s the inaugural season, there’s still a long way to go. However, the owners and organizers have done a commendable job despite limited resources, ensuring that players are well taken care of. The league is heading in the right direction,” Patterson remarked in an official InBL release.
Expressing his optimism about the league’s growth, he added, “It’s exciting to see this platform evolve. It serves as an excellent opportunity for Indian basketball players to display their talent.”
So far, Patterson has played two matches, contributing 32 points and leading the Titans to a dominant 95-79 win over the Falcons. Additionally, he has played a mentorship role for promising young talents, including Indian National Basketball Player Pranav Prince and Lokendra Singh.
According to Patterson, the league holds immense potential in a country with a vast basketball-playing population. The Mumbai Titans player believes that hosting the league in India will inspire young athletes to pursue the sport professionally.
“Furthermore, featuring local Indian players in such a tournament gives young fans the opportunity to witness high-level basketball firsthand. It allows them to visualize a future in the sport. That’s why having the league in India is crucial for youth development,” he emphasized.
The Mumbai Titans currently hold the second spot in the points table with eight wins in seven matches. However, with the Punjab Warriors, Hyderabad Falcons, Gujarat Stallions, and Chennai Heat tied on points, the race for the league stage remains thrilling.
“The competition has been intense, and I believe the next step should be expanding to different cities to build a loyal fan base. Establishing teams in their respective cities and organizing games across India would allow fans from various regions to experience the league firsthand,” Patterson concluded.
